Anything you make is deleted 30 days after it finishes. Download what you want to keep.
The rule, plainly
A finished generation — and the photo you uploaded to make it — is kept for 30 days and then permanently deleted from every place we store it. After that we cannot recover it. Not from a backup, not on request.
This applies to everybody, including subscribers. It is not a paywall and there is no plan that extends it.
The result screen shows Kept until and the date. In the last week, the screen and the item's tile in My generations both switch to Deleted in … days, then Deleted tomorrow, then Due to be deleted, so the ones about to go stand out. Due to be deleted means the date has passed and the item can disappear at any moment — download it now.
Why it works that way
It is a storage limit, not a limit on your rights. Deleting on a schedule means we are not holding a library of people's faces indefinitely, which is the right default for a product that works on photographs of real people. Once you have downloaded a file, it is yours and the 30 days have nothing more to say about it.
How to download
- Open My generations (Library on a phone).
- Either select Download on the item's tile — on a computer it appears when you point at the tile; on a phone it is the button under the tile — or open the item and select Download.
The file saves to your device's downloads, named after the template. On some phones the download opens the share sheet, where you can choose where to save it. To put a result in your phone's photo gallery, open it, press Share and choose the save option in the share sheet.
Do it as soon as you are happy with a result rather than planning to come back — the deadline is the finish time of that generation, not the last time you opened Evili.
Be careful with Delete on a result: it acts straight away, with no confirmation step.
Sharing is not the same as keeping
Share sends the result on: on a phone it usually hands the file itself to your share sheet, and elsewhere it gives you a private link. Whoever opens it sees a picture of the result and can download the file.
A link is not a backup. It points at your result, so it stops working once the result is deleted — by you, or at the end of its 30 days. Download the file if you want it to outlive that.
Nothing you make is visible to other people unless you share it yourself. Your results do not appear in the catalogue. See I shared a result — who can see it?
Saved photos are different
The up-to-three reference photos you save for reuse are not on the 30-day clock. They stay until you delete them, and they go when you delete your account. You can remove them one at a time, or all at once with Delete photos and then Delete all, under Settings → Saved photos (Me in the bottom bar on a phone).
Can you restore something past the window?
No — and we are being straight with you rather than hopeful. Once the deletion has run, the file is gone from every store that held it. That is the same promise that protects your photos, so it has to work in both directions.
If a download fails on an item that is still inside its 30 days, reload My generations and press Download again. If it still fails, that is a fault and we can help: support@evili.ai.
